Founder & System Builder – OSCAR Group

Hi, I’m AJ — a strategic operator, entrepreneur, and someone who genuinely cares about creating scalable, sustainable care for children and families across Aotearoa.

Over the years, I’ve built and grown OSCAR programmes, led teams across multiple sites, and worked alongside providers to help them streamline operations, build capacity, or transition out of their businesses with care and confidence.

Whether you’re looking to exit, expand, or reset, I bring practical strategy, heart-led leadership, and a deep commitment to doing what’s right for the kids, families, and staff at the centre of it all.

I started OSCAR Group with one goal: to simplify success for OSCAR providers.
Whether that means buying an established business from a tired owner, advising a new operator, or licensing a proven model — I bring strategy, structure, and soul to the table.

I believe in doing business with empathy, empowering local teams, and leaving every programme better than I found it.

  • 15+ years in OSCAR programme management and leadership

  • MBA (University of Waikato)

  • PRINCE2-certified project manager

  • Founder and operator of Coast Kids NZ

  • Advisor to local boards and the National OSCAR Advisory Group

  • Passionate about scalable systems, quality care, and strong community outcomes
